STOMPing

wow!!! tat's all i can said when the show ended...last saturday, 24/09, together with my dd and a few frens, i attended a performance by stomp( check out http://www.stomp.co.uk). oh man....it was awesome...it was noisy but good...its noisy with attitude u could say..

a total of bout 9 performers went crazy and bombarded the auditorium with rhythms and sounds created by clapping of hands, stomping of feets, clicking of lighters, instruments such as brooms, oil barrels, rubbish bins, rubber hosts..... 1 1/2 hrs solid... tat's really noise are all about...

the thing is....its "noisily rhythmatic" if the phrase even existed....
as soon as we found out that these ppl were coming, we get frens who are interested and bought the tickets. that was in july so we got pretty good seats without paying premium prices for the tickets. even then with a 15% discount of the ticket price it still costs us, rm153(bout usd 40).
the performance was staged in istana budaya, kuala lumpur, so we travelled over 300km from penang just to attend it...

well, we actualy overnight at cititel, mid valley, had a cool dinner at chilli's, mid valley and grab some stuff at ikea.

oh yah..remember that i supposed to like take some rest? actually, i just walked a few hours in ikea and now the leg is killin me....
anyway, we had lots of funs....lots of fellowships.. if you all ever has a chance to attend the performances, grab it..u'll not regret it....

anyway, here's a shot of the stage..

attack of the gout

yah..u saw it rite.....i'm having the attack now.....well, let me enlighten u all.

"Gout is a systemic disease (i.e., condition that occurs throughout the body) caused by the buildup of uric acid in the joints. An elevated blood level of uric acid (called hyperuricemia) occurs when the liver produces more uric acid than the body can excrete in the urine, or when a diet high in rich foods (e.g., red meat, cream sauces, red wine) produces more uric acid than the kidneys can filter from the blood.

Over time, uric acid in the blood crystallizes and settles in the joint spaces, causing swelling, inflammation, stiffness, and pain. Gout usually affects the first metatarsal phalangeal joint of the big toe (hallux) or the ankle joints."
excerpt from http://www.podiatrychannel.com/gout/

there it is....bout gout....
i have this condition about 2 years ago. i don't smoke nor drink. but i like to eat especially meat and also i like soya drinks....all this contributed to the high uric acid in my body...

it actually started on monday evening after i went for a jog. after dinner i felt some pain on my left ankle. i thought mayb i spraint my ankle or something like that so ijust took some painkillers and muscle relaxing tablets..but by tuesday nite it became unberable..i could not sleep cause the pain was like too much..a slight touch on the ankle caused pain liked being poked with needles. by this morning, it could not even step on the floor. i got to use a cane and went to the clinic. i got a jab on my backside and i was given strict insytruction by the doc not to move.. i hv to rest my leg...he gave me 2 days off...so here i am..resting my legs whole day...

hopefully i can recover by the weekend cause i'll be going to kuala lumpur then...i will be watching stomp.... isn't that cool.......????

well, i just pray that my recovery will be accelerated......

kan gua a chiu....wah eh Chu ah

kan gua a chiu, wah eh Chu ah, Chiah le mai le kui gua........

ok...tat's part of a hokkien song.(hokkien is a chinese dialect originated from a south china province. widly spoken in northern states of malaysia and also in kuching and klang.). this verse means "hold my hand, My Lord, don't leave me".

for the past few days, i was listening to hokkien christian songs that was released by pastor lim gee tiong from sarawak. the title of the album is "a voice that can sing". all the songs in this album talks bout the relationship with God, His goodness and His love for us...

the simplicity of the songs reminds me and encourages me that relationship with God is simple....love Him with all our hearts and trust not on our own understanding and He will leads our path.....its that really simple....

a helping hand

yah..my assignment was made easier for these past few days. uncle scully, my in-laws neighbour while watering his garden, help to water our garden as well....thank God for uncle scully who likes gardening as well. i don't like gardening but i like to play with water...especially when the weather is hot....so, watering the plants is actually ok lah...got to play with water......

my 3 week long assignment

my dad and mom in-law departed for a 3 weeks long holiday in the states this morning. thus from today onwards, my new job takes effect. it’s a 3 week long assignment. i’m the new gardener for my in-laws. i’m assigned to water the orchids, the palm trees, the lady fingers plant and all the other plants in the garden.

it’s not a hard assignment anyway, just that i need to do it every evening. i just hope that i will carry out the assignment well. i hope that by the time my assignment completed in 3 weeks time, all the plants will still be alive and kicking.....

anyway...some pics of the garden and the beautiful orchid that i hope would remain as it is in 3 weeks time......cheeers

a thought....

just a thought....

people willing to pay rm 8 for a cup of coffee but makes noise when petrol went up by 10 cents.....

people willing to buy a 100k car but makes noise when the government did not reduce their roadtax......

people willing to wait and queue outside an eatery but horn on a car in front who fail to move 2 seconds after the traffic light turns green......

my church and worship

i am attending a church in pulau tikus, penang. its Harvest Christian Centre. well, check out the website.. www.hccpenang.org..i am serving in the church, being a church with bout 100 weekly attendance means we got to do lots of things ourselves like church cleaning, setting up the hall for service and things like that. my pastor for example other than preaching also fixed the lighting, the p.a. system, configure computers and other stuff.

ok..ok...our church is an Assembly of God Church. we believe in the Holy Trinity and The Bible is The word of God. we are a charismatic church. we believe in speaking in tongues. as for praise and worship, we sing songs from integrity to passion, from don moen to matt redman. so, as long as the songs praise and worship the living God we sing them. i am a praise singer or backup singer in our church. well, i actually know nuts bout music, i can't play instruments and can't read those notes.

the onli thing that i know of is that i love my God and i sing to worship Him and i sing to encourage and to lead the congregation to worship and exalt Him.

Praise and worship is not a duty or just merely singing for the sake of singing, to me and should also be the same to all Christian, it's a lifestyle. worship is a life style. its part of being a Christian. do u all know that in heaven, praise and worship is on all the time? our duty when we go to heaven is to worship the Almighty God. so, we better get used to it now...

in a service, for me the highlight of it is the praise and worship session. yah, u can say that we can worship when we are at home, in our car or even on our bed..it's the same u say....but let me tell u that, its different, i agree that personal worship is important, but corporate worship is awesome. when whole lots of people worship God, crying out His name, exalting Him at the same time together as a body of Christ...awesome things can happen...He would just come down and His Manifest presence would just fill us up....WOW!! isn't that awesome???....

a thought for u guys...what is freedom of worship is all about???...

my 1st car

ok.....now, talking bout car, my car of course..my 1st car was a maroon wira 1.5 manual. u c, when i first got that car bout 4 years ago, i told myself that this would b my car for years to come. well, that idea only lasted me till this year when i sold it...we'll talk bout that later..

now, i would just like to share with you my experience with my proton. 1st, the first time i when i collected my car, the air-con not working, only hot con coming out from that vent. but, being a guy who's bout to drive his 1st car, it was just a small matter. u know, still in cloud 9....anyway, got that fixed and happy as a little kid.

before the 1st month birthday, before i have a chance to pay my 1st installment, my car was scratched...the scratch was a long line from the front wheel till the rear wheel. can u imagine my feeling that time...i was like numb...felt like a sharp knife piearced thru the heart. oh man.....take that.....my then, girlfren (my current dd) consolled me that, a man must not be a slave to the car, the car is only a transport...well, realistically it's true, i agreed with her. but deep down my heart...'this is my car, MY CAR'..

as time passsed by, i was beginning to realise that it was impossible to care for the car. thus i began to apply the principle. 'a car is only a transport'. i was a much happier man since then. but taking good care of the engine was my priority since then. until i sold my car, the exterior was battered, decorated. the engine was ok..u know....what can be expected from a 3 years old proton. if there are no sound from the car, it's not a proton, people say.

anyway, back to now, i exchanged a proton to a used nissan n16 gxe 1.8. i'm glad to say that i made the right choice. i am happy with it sticking with the principle 'a car is only a transport'.

i left with you the pic of my 1st car.

my 1st story

well..well...well, good things should be shared, bad things too should be shared that we may learn from it. yah....this is my 1st posting, trying not to scare people from it. hey....wat am i talking here..

anyway, just some info bout myself. i'm from alor setar, kedah, malaysia. but i'm residing in penang now. ppl call penang, "the pearl of the orient". but really, there's no pearl to be found anywhere. the only things that can be found in penang is food...plenty of it.....think it should be called "the foodplate of the east".

i'm with a logistics company in bayan lepas. been working there even since i left college. i'm married with 0 kids. well, i just got married last year. my dd(that's wat i call my wife) works in a computer firm also in bayan lepas. and guess where we are staying....?????

fettes park! u heard it rite... well, come to think of it...its not that far anyway...going to work from fettes park to bayan lepas is actually quite a breeze...cause the heavier traffic is on the other side (if u are staying in bayan lepas or bayan baru going to work in georgetown area, u 'll get what i mean).

i'm attending a church in pulau tikus. yah, i'm a Christian, a born again Christ believing Christian. being a Christian is not a privilege, its a life itself...

anyway, this is only my 1st story..bear with me yah...
